So it was a pretty good week! I'll start first with some
success we were able to have!
For the past maybe month or 2 us missionaries have been
planning a ping-pong/badminton event, mainly because one of our people we are
teaching likes those. (but sad thing was that he didn't even come 😂)
but we planned it out and had it this week and thanks to members we were able
to have 3 brand new people come, and a few other people came too!
I mean I thought I was pretty good at ping-pong, but I mean
that's just exactly what you think right before you get creamed by an old
Korean guy 😂 but it turned out to be a great success! 2
of the people who came also came to church the next day, and we did a lesson
with one of them too!
Then we also had transfers! So I am........ STAYING!
Whooooo!! I'm loving the area I'm at right now, and with this stay makes
this the longest I've been in an area. So Training and Solo Zone-leadering also
came to an end! It was good time with Elder Han, but he's heading over to
Busan. My next companion is Elder Kim, and it's
gonna be great! Elder Kim is like an angel, so it should be pretty good!
That's basically the week, so onto the next transfer!

Okay so last week we got a call from this random number, and
it was this lady who told us she was from a construction company and there
was a person who wanted to buy our church building!! haha, they said they were
gonna tear the church down and build up a big apartment there! haha, I just had
to laugh to myself cause Satan is really doing everything he can to
bring the church down, literally in this case.
We were able to meet some people this past week, which was
great. Have some people we think could have some potential in the future.
Something we were able to do was go visit a member who was
in the hospital and Elder Han was able to give his first blessing. But one
thing I like about older Korean guys, is they bestow their wisdom upon us, haha. So we were able to enjoy listening to a
bunch of older korean guys bestowing wisdom upon us.
One great thing this past week was that we got an invitation
to go a meal appointment at a member's. But we went and found there were like
20 members who were all invited too! So it was great, but the really good thing,
was that after eating and stuff, we all just sat around in like a big circle
and just talked. The thing that was so great was that the holy ghost was there
the whole time in their conversation, they talked about church and family and
all these great things! It was just so great to see a group of people like that
get together and have a conversation filled with the spirit.
Just remember to always strive to have conversations where
the spirit is welcome there!
Love you all,

Tomorrow's a mystery!
But today is a gift,
That is why it's called 'the present"
If you can tell me who quotes that, I'll like you a little
bit more ;)
So last week we went and hiked this big mountain and it was super awesome! It wasn't like mind blowing tall like Utahs, but
Korea is just so beautiful! It was so awesome.
This past week we were able to attend the funeral service of
our Ward mission leader's mom. First off he is such wonderful member, even
though it was really hard on him, I was blown away by how he could smile and
show so much love for people. He even introduced his relatives to us for them
to learn free english! He truly is a fantastic member. We were also asked to be
the casket bearers! So that was the first time I had done that, and it was a
good experience.
One cool miracle that we had this week: we are trying to
help bring some members back into the church, so we went to visit one person at
his home and he was actually there! So we talked, left, and were walking home when
his mom chased us down to talk to us! She's not a member (she's actually
catholic) but SHE expressed how much she wanted us to help her son and bring
him back to church! Told us more about him and said that after we left he said
"mom, today as I was walking home, I actually thought about church a
bit" or something like that, and she even briefly said how it would
also be good if he served a mission! so that was a cool miracle.
We also had stake conference over here in GwangJu, nothing
too crazy. We did a choir for it, so that was cool I guess. I also had to have
a meeting with our mission president and the Stake presidency cause I’m the
GwangJu zone leader.
You know this gospel is just amazing, just take a few
moments and think about how perfect this gospel is...
love you all,
Elder hanks
Pics are mainly just from our hike, enjoy 😊

So we're heading to go climb a mountain right now, so not too
much time today, so if I don't get to one of your emails, I apologize
But this week was pretty good, we had a bunch of little
miracles we were able to see! So let's share a few 😁
First off we went on exchanges this week, and during it we
went to try and find some less actives in their area, so while going around we
came across a cute little old couple who were active members. So we went in and
shared a message and found out that just the day before the brother said to his
wife "why don't the missionaries come around anymore?" and then we
show up the next day?? Haters will say "just a coincidence" but I
know that God is watching over each and every one of his children
Second: a few weeks back we went to visit a member, we knew
what apartment complex she lived at, but didn't know the number. But we went in
faith, and as we were walking in she was pulling into the apartment in her car
and said hello! So we told her we were going to visit her, were able to figure
out what number and shared a message. First She told us that was the only day
of the week she didn't work, so she was actually home! And she said she was
trying to find a job where she didn't have to work on Sundays, so she asked us
to pray for her, which of course we did. And then just yesterday at church she
came up and told us she found a job! (which by the way is very hard in Korea to
just switch jobs like that, especially a full time job) so really a cool
miracle
Last one: we had a free day and we decided to head up to a
far north part of our area. We spent the day proselyting up there and had some
success. But as we were walking on a street a woman called us out from her car
and we found out it was a member who lived up there! Then we asked the bishop later and he said she was the only member who lived up
in that area. So it was just a little miracle that we were and to run into her.
There are so many little miracles everyday that just make life
so exciting. Heavenly Father truly has an enjoyable time blessing us.
Love you all,
Elder Hanks

Got to do some yard work for a member, which was special
cause most Koreans don't have yards
This was a tournament of park golf (I think it's called)
which is basically a bigger version of mini golf
